Multiple telephone scams are continuing to target Chinese students in Australia. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has issued an 聽and the Australian media has published an article on a separate telephone scam .
Support for students
If you receive an unsolicited phone call in Mandarin, hang up the phone immediately and contact or for support.
Tips for students
- Don鈥檛 answer phone calls from unknown and private caller IDs. If it鈥檚 important, the caller will leave a message and you can return it later.
- Don鈥檛 provide or disclose any personal information to unsolicited calls, even if they appear to come from a Government organisation.
- Take note of any details (websites and numbers) that has been provided and double check this to make sure it’s credible.
