In today’s global economy, the efficient flow of goods and services is crucial to business success. Supply chain and marketing distribution are systems that ensure goods are delivered across countries to the consumer at the lowest cost and shortest time. Â
While supply chain and marketing distribution both focus on product delivery, they address different aspects of the process:
Supply chain refers to the broad network of production, processing and distribution of goods; from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing, warehousing and transportation, all the way to delivering finished products to retailers or consumers.
Marketing distribution is concerned with making products available to consumers in a convenient way. This includes decisions about wholesalers, retailers and the geographic reach of distribution.
This specialisation teaches you how to effectively move goods through distribution channels from their point of creation to the consumer. On completion of this program, you can apply your knowledge in a range of industries including retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, healthcare and technology.
