Notice of Election
Election of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Member of Academic Staff to the Academic Board
Term of office: 1 April 2026 and concluding 31 March 2028
Following the call for nominations for the election of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander continuing or fixed-term member of academic staff to Academic Board, two (2) valid nominations were received by the close of nominations on 5:00pm, Friday 12 June 2026.
An election will therefore be conducted to determine which candidate will be elected as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander continuing or fixed-term member of academic staff to Academic Board, for a term of office commencing from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028.
The candidates are listed below in alphabetical order:

Voting instructions
The election will be conducted using 麻豆直播鈥檚 electronic voting system 鈥Simply Voting鈥. On the day that voting opens, you will receive an email from Simply Voting which contains your Elector ID and a randomly generated password.
Please note, the generated email from Simply Voting may be sent to your junk or clutter mail folder. Please ensure that you check your junk mail if you cannot find the email. The electronic link to the Simply Voting website is . Click on this link to gain access to the site.
Once you have entered your Elector ID and your randomly generated password you may vote in the election. The list of candidates will appear in a random order. If the candidate has provided a statement supporting their case for election or a photograph you may click on their name to view the statement and/or photograph.
In this election:
- Voting will begin at 9:00am, Tuesday 23 June 2026 and close at 5:00pm, Monday 6 July 2026. Please note that Simply Voting will not accept votes outside of these times.You must vote for at least one (1) candidate.
- Place the numeral 鈥1鈥 in the box beside your candidate of first preference.
- You may choose to express a preference for some or all of the remaining candidates. Place the numerals 鈥2鈥, 鈥3鈥 and so on in numerical order in the box beside the candidate or candidates for whom you wish to express a second or any subsequent preference.
- Simply Voting will invite you to check your ballot choices before you submit your vote.
- Once the vote is confirmed it may not be recalled and you will not be able to vote again.
- The candidate who receives the highest number of votes, following the distribution of preferences, will be declared elected as the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Member of Academic Staff on Academic Board, for a term of office commencing on 1 April 2026 and concluding 31 March 2028.
- The candidate who receives the second highest number of votes, following the distribution of preferences, will be declared elected as the Deputy to the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Member of Academic Staff on Academic Board, for a term of office commencing on 1 April 2026 and concluding 31 March 2028.
Counting of votes and announcement of election result
Votes will be counted as soon as practicable after the voting period ends.
The result of the election will be declared by the Returning Officer on Wednesday 8 July 2026 and all candidates will be notified of the election result in writing.
