This year’s NAIDOC Week marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience. The theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of young leaders, the vision of communities, and the legacy of ancestors.Â
Each year NAIDOC Week is held in July, to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. From 6 to 13 July this year, learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on Earth.
Act Belong Commit
First Nations culture demonstrates a strong connection to the Act Belong Commit principles and provides a great positive example of prioritising social and emotional wellbeing through activity (fishing, art, and song), connection with family and language groups, and a commitment to caring for Country.
