Chronically Crafty offers a calm, creative space at John Curtin Gallery

Looking for a low-pressure way to get creative and connect with others? Chronically Crafty is a welcoming, drop-in craft session designed for disabled, chronically ill and neurodivergent students and anyone who feels like joining in.

Held at the John Curtin Gallery, the sessions invite you to bring along whatever you’re currently working on, whether that’s knitting, drawing, journaling or something in between. There’s no set agenda, no expectations and no pressure to stay the whole time – just a quiet, supportive space to create at your own pace.

The sessions are facilitated by disabled artist, researcher and advocate Jordan Alice Fyfe, who brings a strong focus on accessibility, inclusivity and community.

You can arrive when it suits you and leave whenever you need, making it an easy option to fit around classes, energy levels or just how you’re feeling on the day.

When: First Wednesday of the month, 12–2pm

Where: John Curtin Gallery

Cost: Free (registration required)

Upcoming dates:

  • May 6
  • June 3
  • Semester break (no session in July)
  • August 5
  • September 2
  • October 7

Whether you’re a seasoned creative or just looking for a gentle way to unwind, Chronically Crafty is all about making space for creativity, connection and rest – on your terms.
