Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s iconic has entered a new chapter, reimagined into an open-air pavilion and gathering space that honours Country and community.

Experience the special site when it opens this Friday April 24.

The project has protected the Dome’s distinctive form while converting the area into a versatile, welcoming hub that embraces the connection between Curtin Stadium and the Exchange.

Its significance extends beyond the architecture as the site is close to where the Kujal Kela (Twin Dolphin) and Djiridji (Zamia) songlines intersect.

The converging songlines are honoured by the thin meandering red and blue lines sandblasted on the concrete floor and brick paving, and work in concert with a soundscape taken from local field recordings of birdsong and water sources.

The transformation of the Dome enriches the student experience (yes, you can plug in!), celebrates cultural heritage, and creates a welcoming and respectful legacy for Curtin’s current and future community.

The new Dome public space is the setting for the Creatures on Campus event to be held on May 8 and 9, featuring larger-than-life animal installations with animatronics, expert wildlife academics from Â鶹ֱ²¥, and VR experiences.

Wander down to yourself, or book Creatures on Campus and get a first-look at the Dome precinct.
