Course structure
What youâll learn
Your studies will begin with our business core units. Youâll explore value-creation in business, learn how to use financial information to make responsible decisions, and develop business intelligence and data analysis skills.
Youâll also complete core units in management, gaining the foundations of key business areas such as finance, marketing, and project management. Youâll learn the key activities, tools and strategies of each area, and gain insights into technological advancements and influencing trends.
In your first year, our expert team will help you structure your degree to suit your career goals. Youâll choose two business specialisations that align with your interests. Youâll then choose either a third specialisation from selected areas in business, arts, design or science; or four elective units.
In your final year you'll undertake a capstone experience to gain valuable industry experience. This unit 'caps off' your study, enabling you to put your skills and knowledge into practice and smoothing your transition from study to the workplace.

Option 1: a third specialisation
Choose another business specialisation from the list above to enhance your international business acumen.
Or, diversify your skill set and choose a specialisation from selected areas in arts, design or science â for example, Construction Management, Digital Design, Environmental Planning, Journalism, or Surveying and Spatial Sciences.
Option 2: four elective units
You can choose four electives from any Curtin undergraduate course in which you meet the unit prerequisites.
Real-world experiences
Put your skills into practise through a final-year capstone experience. Our Business Administration degree includes the Wicked Challenges capstone unit, which provides a real-world experience to âcap off' your studies:
Wicked Challenges: Wicked challenges are complicated and complex real-world problems that impact people at the global, community and individual scale. This unit will immerse you in multidisciplinary, project-based learning that involves collaboration with peers, academics and industry experts to solve big-issue problems.
Alternatively, you may be able to study units included below that also provide experiential opportunities:
Business Clinic: This is your chance to become a real-world business consultant, working directly with individuals, small organisations and startups to solve challenges and optimise for opportunities. Through hands-on experience in the clinic, you will develop your understanding of key business concepts, problem-solving techniques and ethical decision-making. Youâll gain valuable insights into the modern business world and the confidence to navigate its complexities once you graduate.
Business Internship: Guided by an academic advisor and an industry professional, youâll be immersed in the day-to-day operations of your host organisation. This capstone experience is a chance to develop your business skills, enhance your career readiness, build your professional network and nurture your personal and professional growth.
Business and Law International Experience: Through this capstone experience, you can progress your studies while travelling by studying a short course with one of our global exchange partners. Youâll immerse yourself in a different culture, expand your knowledge, make lifelong memories and build your global perspective.
Business Study Tour or International Business Project: In this capstone experience, youâll apply what youâve learnt in real-world settings around the globe. Through site visits, guest lectures and team projects, you'll connect with industry leaders, gain fresh perspectives and tackle real business challenges â all with the guidance of our academic staff. Local or international, every tour blends cultural activities with practical learning â developing your leadership, problem-solving and global industry knowledge.
Enhancing Your Business Mind: In this capstone experience, youâll apply your entrepreneurial skills, business ideas and critical thinking to a real workplace, improving your employability and equipping you with skills to succeed after university. Youâll have the chance to challenge yourself (in a supportive environment) and discover things you didnât realise you needed to know â about industry and yourself.

2026 Domestic indicative fees
Commonwealth-supported first-year fee
$17,400*
*The indicative first-year fee is based on a standard full-time study load of 200 credit points.
This fee is a guide only. Your total fee may vary depending on the units you choose, your study load or if your course includes additional requirements. For more information on fees, see other fees and charges.
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government. They pay part of the course fees directly to Curtin and then the student pays the remainder (referred to as the âstudent contribution amountâ). The student can defer this fee to their HECS-HELP loan.
All Australian students studying an undergraduate degree are automatically awarded a Commonwealth supported place. A limited number of Commonwealth supported places are also available for some postgraduate courses.

Choose your application pathway
Iâm in year 12 or applying for Medicine
If youâre in year 12 or recently finished high school, youâll need to apply through TISC.
Youâll apply through TISC no matter what you studied in high school, whether that was:
- ATAR
- General subjects
- Certificate IV
- or completing UniReady in Schools program.
TISC has different application dates to Curtin. for all important dates, including application deadlines.
I have finished high school
If youâre not a current year 12 student or recent graduate, youâre considered a non school leaver and youâll apply directly to Curtin.
The only exception is Medicine, which must be applied for through TISC.
Youâll apply directly to Curtin if you are:
- a high school graduate who finished school last year or earlier
- transferring from another university
- returning to study or using your professional experience to qualify
- progressing from a VET or TAFE qualification or bridging program
- a current Curtin student changing courses or campuses.
