A risk assessment must be approved online in prior to the commencement of an event.
Event templates located in CHARM, can be cloned and modified to suit your event.

On campus event
- Book your space – see below ‘How to book a venue’
- Complete an event
- Complete the Smoking Ceremony Checklist
- Provide a “mud map” of event
- If your event involves high risk works – Meet the requirements of the Event High Risk Works Safety Bulletin
- Check event processes using the relevant sections of the large-scale Event Bump-in and Bump-out Checklist
- Apply for relevant Local Government Permits – view External Links below
- Complete relevant State Government Requirements (Alcohol) – view External Links below
- Formulate and deliver event specific induction for event staff
Off campus event
- Apply for relevant Local Government Permits – view External Links below

- Complete an Emergency Management Plan
- Formulate and deliver event specific induction for event staff
- Check that Curtin’s insurance coverage is adequate and provide copies of Certificates of Currency as required –

- Check event processes using the relevant sections of the large-scale Event Bump-in and Bump-out Checklist
Non Curtin & off campus (stall holder)
- Complete an event Risk Assessment

External or private event on campus

- Receive a current Public Liability Insurance certificate from each business coming on to campus
- Receive a copy of current Business Licences for each business coming on to campus
